Disappointment for Great Britain: No medals on day three of Para-Cycling Road World Championships

Great Britain did not secure any medals on the third day of the Para-cycling Road World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland.

In the men’s B individual time trial, Chris McDonald and his pilot Adam Duggleby finished fifth, trailing Dutch champions Tristan Bangma and Patrick Bos by 2:09.33 and missing the podium by 1:18.22.

Paralympic medallist Archie Atkinson, 20, came in sixth in the men’s C4 time trial, 1:25.07 behind the bronze medalist.

Will Bjergfelt also placed sixth in the C5 event, falling short of the medals by 1:01.07.

Additionally, Ben Wiggins, the 19-year-old son of 2012 Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins, finished 18th in the men’s Under-23 individual time trial, with teammate Josh Charlton in 20th.

Ireland’s Darren Rafferty secured sixth place, 1:01.52 behind Spanish champion Ivan Romeo Abad.

In the men’s junior individual time trial, debutants Dylan Sage and Finlay Tarling finished 12th and 24th, respectively, with France’s Paul Seixas taking the victory.
