Paris Saint-Germain tightened their grip on the Ligue 1 title with a commanding 3-1 win over Marseille in Le Classique. Ousmane Dembélé continued his blistering form, opening the scoring early as PSG extended their unbeaten league run. With just two more wins needed to clinch their 13th title, the Parisians are closing in on yet another domestic triumph.
Fresh off his Champions League heroics at Anfield, Dembélé struck in the 17th minute, calmly slotting home after a precise pass from Fabián Ruiz. The France international has been unstoppable in recent weeks, netting seven times in his last seven appearances. His latest goal took his season tally to 30 in all competitions his best return in club football.
Ruiz was again the provider just before half-time, setting up Nuno Mendes for a simple finish that doubled PSG’s advantage. Marseille, desperate to salvage something, found a lifeline through Amine Gouiri early in the second half. However, their hopes of a comeback were dashed when Pol Lirola turned the ball into his own net, sealing a deserved victory for the home side.
The win extends PSG’s lead at the top to 19 points, putting them within touching distance of yet another Ligue 1 crown. If they win their next two matches against Saint-Étienne and Angers, the title will be theirs with six games to spare.
With a Coupe de France semi-final and a Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa also on the horizon, Luis Enrique’s side remain in the hunt for a treble. Given their dominance, few would bet against them completing the clean sweep.
