Arsenal’s midfield maestro, Jorginho, has committed his future to the Premier League side by signing a contract extension.

The 32-year-old initially joined the Gunners in January 2023 from Chelsea, inking an 18-month deal.

However, Arsenal has now secured his services for an extended period, though the exact duration remains unspecified, described by the club as a “short-term deal.”

Having donned the Arsenal jersey, Jorginho has played in 35 games across various competitions this season, netting a goal along the way.

Expressing his joy about staying at Arsenal, Jorginho exclaimed, “I’m really, really happy to stay, because it’s a privilege to be a part of this family.”

The Brazil-born Italy international also hailed the positive environment under manager Mikel Arteta, describing it as a “special moment” for the club.

Arteta, in turn, lauded Jorginho’s contribution, highlighting his crucial role in the team’s dynamics.

“Jorgi is such an important part of our team, a role model with great leadership skills and a unique playing style ability which makes everybody better around him on the pitch,” Arteta claimed.

He emphasized the midfielder’s impact on and off the field.

Arsenal is getting ready for crucial encounters against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 12 May and Everton at home on 19 May, with Jorginho set to play a pivotal role in the team’s aspirations.
