It was a day of grit, class, and nerves at Wimbledon as Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, and Aryna Sabalenka battled through high-stakes quarter-finals to book their spots in the last four.

Alcaraz gave Centre Court a masterclass. The defending champion was too strong, too fast, and too clever for Cameron Norrie. He cruised to a 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 win in just under 100 minutes.

Norrie had no answers to the Spaniard’s mix of power and touch. He tried to stay in the rallies, but Alcaraz always found a way through. “His level was unreal,” Norrie admitted.

The win marked Alcaraz’s 23rd straight victory. He now stands one win away from reaching his third Wimbledon final in a row. Next, he will face Taylor Fritz, who survived a rollercoaster.

Fritz started strong against Karen Khachanov, winning the first two sets 6-3, 6-4. Then, his game dipped badly. He lost the third 6-1 and needed a medical timeout to treat his foot.

A line-call error added to the chaos in the fourth, but Fritz stayed calm. He took the set in a tense tiebreak to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final. “I’m feeling great to get through it,” he said.

On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka survived a big scare. She beat Laura Siegemund 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 in almost three hours. The German sliced, scrambled, and pushed her to the edge.

Sabalenka admitted she was close to losing it mentally. “I was looking at my box and thinking, ‘book the tickets,’” she said. But she fought hard and turned it around with her power and resolve.

Amanda Anisimova

She will meet Amanda Anisimova, who overcame a late stumble to beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets. After winning, she shared a sweet moment with her young nephew on court.
