In the final round of the group stage matches for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Group E leaders Ghana will square off against third-placed Central African Republic on Thursday.

A spot in Ivory Coast is very much up for grabs, making the game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium a thrilling one as both sides are separated by just two points.

After participating in nine straight AFCON tournaments since 2006, the Black Stars need just a draw to guarantee a 10th consecutive place at the continental championship.

Coach Chris Hughton is expected to make some changes in his lineup that faced Madagascar back in June.

Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi is expected to start in the post despite the recent call-up of Richard Ofori.

Daniel Amartey’s absence due to injury will see Hughton make adjustments at the defensive back line.

Alexander Djiku, who has performed admirably since the season started, is anticipated to be paired with Joseph Aidoo.

Alidu Seidu should be preferred ahead of Dennis Odoi. The left full-back position will likely be filled by Gideon Mensah.

In Thomas Partey’s stead, Baba Iddrissu looks the likely option to partner Salis Samed, while Edmund Addo could also make a start.

The front three of Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, and Inaki Williams are expected to start in this encounter.

The game is scheduled to take place at exactly 4:00pm local time.

Ghana’s predicted starting lineup: Lawrence Ati-Zigi; Alidu Seidu, Joseph Aidoo, Alexander Djiku, Gideon Mensah; Salis Samed, Edmund Addo, Baba Iddrissu; Inaki Williams, Mohammed Kudus; Jordan Ayew
