Information Minister calls for strategic overhaul of public organizational structures

Information Minister Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has called for a strategic overhaul of Ghana’s structures to ensure the nation is equipped for a forward-looking future. Addressing the International Advertising Association’s (IAA) 6th Africa Rising Conference in Accra on Tuesday, 5th September 2023, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah emphasized the critical need for Ghana to adopt innovative and adaptable structures, drawing parallels between the nation’s evolution and the strategies employed by corporate brands navigating a changing landscape.

The IAA’s Africa Rising Leadership conference continues to be a platform for key industry players to deliberate and share ideas on the Marketing Communications industry across Africa – taking a cue from the global IAA compass positioning of championing Thought-leadership within the industry.

According to the information minister, there is the need for people in government to question the structures they have designed ostensibly to deliver value for Ghanaians. ‘’ Just as we are encouraging corperations and you the private sector to establish effective organizational structures, we too should question the structures we have built. Are they really delivering, are they really effective, how well are we promoting participation and contribution from all of society as we’ll expect from all organizations if we were in the private sector.’’ He said.

The 6th edition of the Africa Rising leadership conference is being held in Accra, Ghana with the theme “Building Future Ready Brands”. This year’s conference brings together over 25 market leaders with expertise to inspire and share learnings on the relevance of brands including the dynamics of remaining relevant in the ever-changing economies of this world especially within Africa.
