Accra, Ghana — September 8, 2026: MTN Ghana has officially launched DigiFest 2026, commencing a month-long programme designed to showcase emerging technologies, digital services and innovations shaping Ghana’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
The launch, held at MTN House in Accra, brought together government representatives, technology professionals, innovators, digital media practitioners, business leaders and other stakeholders for a celebration of technology and its growing influence on everyday life.
The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, officially opened the DigiFest Tech Fair, which marked the beginning of a programme expected to continue into October.
Through DigiFest 2026, MTN Ghana is creating a platform for participants to experience new technologies, engage with digital solutions and explore opportunities across connectivity, financial technology, entrepreneurship and the wider innovation ecosystem.
The launch and Tech Fair featured demonstrations and interactive experiences highlighting how technology can improve communication, productivity, commerce and access to essential services.
The event also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the importance of collaboration between government, telecommunications companies, businesses and Ghana’s technology community. Such partnerships remain vital to expanding connectivity, improving digital skills and ensuring that more people can participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
As Ghana continues its digital transformation, access and inclusion remain central to the national conversation. DigiFest reinforces the need to develop technology that responds to local challenges while equipping individuals, businesses and young innovators to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
The festival forms part of MTN Ghana’s broader commitment to leading the delivery of digital solutions for Africa’s progress. It also reflects the company’s continued investment in connectivity, innovation and platforms that support modern connected lives.
Among the initiatives associated with DigiFest 2026 is a Game Developer Contest, providing an avenue for developers to demonstrate their creativity and build locally relevant gaming experiences. The competition opened on August 24 and is scheduled to close on October 16, 2026.
With a series of activities expected throughout the festival, MTN DigiFest 2026 will continue to bring customers, innovators, businesses and technology enthusiasts closer to the ideas and solutions defining the future.
