In a captivating display at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall, the Atlas Lions of Morocco roared to an impressive 8-3 victory against Ghana, igniting the home crowd with a dazzling display of futsal.

Under the strategic guidance of Hicham Dguig, Morocco delivered a masterclass that not only secured their second win but also propelled them closer to the coveted trophy of the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations.

The spectacle unfolded with lightning speed as Youssef Jouad wasted no time, netting a sensational side-footed finish a mere 15 seconds into the match, catching Ghana’s goalkeeper, Rapheal Tsigbe, off guard.

The early goal set the stage for Captain Soufiane El Mesrar to showcase his skill with a thunderous left-footed strike just minutes later, sending the home fans into a frenzy of jubilation.

Resilient in their pursuit, Ghana found a glimmer of hope when Prince Arthur capitalized on a deflected set piece, narrowing the gap. However, Morocco’s attack proved too potent as Soufiane Charraoui swiftly restored the Atlas Lions’ dominance with a splendid goal.

The first half showcased a fierce back-and-forth battle, highlighted by Soufiane El Mesrar’s second goal and Ghana’s Philip Nii Boye’s determined effort.

As the game progressed into the second half, Morocco’s superiority was evident once more, with El Mesrar earning and converting a penalty, further solidifying their lead.

Morocco scored twice late on through Khalid Bouzid and Youssef Jouad to seal the victory and send the home fans into a frenzy.

This result leaves Ghana bottom of Group A after two games with zero points. Ghana will face Angola in their last group game.
