In a thrilling showdown, the Phoenix Suns duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker propelled their team to a narrow 109-105 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, handing the Lakers their first loss of the season.
Booker scored 33 points, while Durant contributed 30.
LeBron James had a subdued performance, finishing with just 11 points, while Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 29 and Austin Reaves added 23.
The Lakers entered the game with a strong 3-0 record under new head coach JJ Redick and started off strongly, with Davis scoring 16 points in the first quarter to help the team to an early 26-8 lead.
However, the Suns fought back, leading 50-48 at halftime. The Lakers responded with a strong third quarter, scoring 35 points to regain the advantage.
Yet, the Suns surged in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lakers 33-22 to secure a hard-fought win.
