The High Court in Accra has adjourned proceedings in the high-profile corruption cases involving the former Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Osei Assibey Antwi, and his former deputy, Gifty Oware-Mensah, following their failure to appear before the court.

In court today, legal counsel for Mr. Assibey Antwi informed the judge that his client was in Kumasi at the request of police investigators. The lawyer, dressed in African print, further stated that the defence had not yet been served with the official charge sheet.

The court subsequently ordered that the charge sheet and hearing notices be formally served on Mr. Assibey Antwi, and adjourned the matter, which will be recalled at a later date.

In the separate case involving Gifty Oware-Mensah, the court was informed that she had submitted a two-day medical excuse duty, excusing her from court proceedings. Her case was also adjourned and is expected to be recalled next week.
