The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has submitted a petition to the Electoral Commission (EC) today as part of its “Enough is Enough” demonstration.
The party is calling for an independent forensic audit of the voters’ register, citing concerns about alleged bloating and improper transfers within the register ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Led by National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the NDC outlined ten key demands in the petition. These include a bipartisan investigation into the EC’s handling of the register, immediate publication of the audit results and a re-exhibition of the register once the audit is completed.
The petition was received by Deputy Commissioner of Operations Samuel Tettey on behalf of EC Chair Jean Mensa.
Asiedu Nketiah emphasized that electoral integrity is non-negotiable for the NDC and urged the EC to ensure transparency in the election process.
Protests were held in all 16 regions of the country as part of the party’s push for a free, fair and credible election.
