Kalsoume Sinare and 14 others nominated for Ambassadorial positions

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 15 individuals for ambassadorial and consular positions in Ghana’s foreign service.
The nominations, which were made in consultation with the Council of State, represent the first batch of diplomatic appointments under his administration since assuming office in January 2025.
A letter dated June 10, 2025, from the Office of the President to the Minister for Foreign Affairs detailed the appointments. The nominees include seasoned politicians, academics, and public figures from various professional backgrounds.
Among the high-profile nominees is veteran Ghanaian actress Kalsoume Sinare, who has been nominated to serve as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain. Her selection marks a notable inclusion of a figure from the creative arts sector in Ghana’s diplomatic corps.
Also on the list is Nii Amasah Namoale, a former Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon and long-serving member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He has been nominated to serve as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil.

7. ⁠Theresah Adjei-Mensah – Czech Republic
8. ⁠Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso – Republic of India
9. ⁠Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, Ph.D. – Canada
10. ⁠Dr. Margaret Miewien Chebere – Republic of Austria
11. ⁠Labik Joseph Yaani – Republic of Equatorial Guinea
12. ⁠Captain George Kofi Nojoh – Togolese Republic
13. ⁠Dr. Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo – Republic of Senegal
The nominations are expected to be submitted to Parliament for vetting and approval in accordance with constitutional requirements.
