The Miami Heat have suspended Jimmy Butler indefinitely following a “continued pattern of disregard for team rules.”
The six-time NBA All-Star, 35, had already faced two suspensions this month for disciplinary reasons, causing him to miss nine games.
The team cited his decision to walk out of a practice on Friday as the final straw, leading to another suspension without pay.
While the Heat have labeled the suspension “indefinite,” they clarified that it will last at least five games.
The team’s statement emphasized that the suspension stems from Butler’s repeated violations of team rules, behavior deemed detrimental to the team, and intentional withholding of services.
In response, Butler shared a clip on Instagram from the TV show Martin, where the character humorously talks about being out of work, seemingly addressing the situation with his usual irreverence.
This latest suspension raises further questions about Butler’s relationship with the team, especially as the Heat continue to navigate his disciplinary challenges.
