Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations and owner of Nsoatreman F.C., along with Agyemang Duah Owusu and Kyeremeh Joseph, have been granted bail in connection with the death of Kotoko fan Yaw Frimpong, also known as Pooley.

The trio was arrested on Monday after a violent altercation at Nana Konamansah Park in Nsoatre, which resulted in Pooley being fatally stabbed on February 2, 2025.

After appearing in court on February 4, they were granted bail but are expected to reappear in court on February 17.

A police search of Agyemang Duah Owusu’s residence uncovered bloodstained clothing and a firearm, intensifying investigations into the matter.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended Nsoatreman’s home venue and initiated an investigation into the incident.

The case has drawn widespread condemnation, with mounting calls for stricter measures to tackle hooliganism within Ghanaian football.

This tragic incident has sparked significant concern within the football community, highlighting the urgent need for stronger actions to ensure the safety of fans and players alike.
