Accra, The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have issued an unreserved apology to the public following intermittent power supply disruptions caused by a shortage of gas for power generation.

According to a press release from the companies, the power outages are the result of a challenge at the Ghana National Gas Limited Company’s (GNGC) Gas Processing Plant (GPP) in Atuabo.

The disruption at the Atuabo plant has led to limited gas supply, affecting power generation and causing interruptions for many customers.

In their joint statement, GRIDCo and ECG assured the public that engineers from GNGC are actively working to resolve the issue and restore full gas supply.

“We apologize unreservedly for the inconvenience caused,” the statement read, while promising to monitor the situation closely and restore normal power supply as soon as the technical issue is resolved.

The companies reiterated their commitment to keeping the public informed and thanked consumers for their patience during the ongoing work to address the problem.
