In a major move to boost local football coverage, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a strategic partnership with Wilsad Support Limited to launch GhSportsLive, a dedicated radio commentary service for the MTN FA Cup.
As part of the agreement, Wilsad Support Limited has been granted exclusive radio broadcast and rebroadcast rights for the 2024/2025 MTN FA Cup semi-final and grand final matches.
Through GhSportsLive, the company will deliver high-quality, professional live commentary to radio stations across Ghana — marking the nation’s first syndicated radio service exclusively focused on live local football.
The initiative brings numerous advantages to participating radio stations, including:
1. Access to expert live commentary for top-tier matches.
2.Significant cost savings by eliminating the need for stations to send their own commentary teams to match venues.
3.Coverage of high-profile fixtures, including the MTN FA Cup’s climactic stages.
According to the GFA, this partnership is designed to be scalable, with future plans to extend coverage to additional matches and expand the network of participating stations.
GFA President Kurt E. S. Okraku shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating,
