The match ended in a 5-2 defeat for the Black Stars in Rabat’s pulsating arena.

Despite the setback, Ghana showcased unwavering resilience and flashes of brilliance that hinted at their potential in the tournament.

Emmanuel Pako Nakotey’s early strike sent shockwaves through Zambia’s defense, setting the tone for an intense game.

However, as the game progressed, Ghana faced relentless pressure from the Zambians who eventually equalized just before halftime courtesy of Zambia’s Patrick Banda.

The match witnessed moments of Ghanaian brilliance when Saviour Tsatsu and captain Timothy Kantanka Ntiamoah unleashing determined efforts thwarted only by Zambia’s outstanding goalkeeper, Jackson Chitungu.

Despite their defensive prowess, Ghana couldn’t contain Zambia’s attacking prowess, succumbing to Francis Chinyama’s thunderous strike early in the second half.

Although Philip Boakye’s late goal injected some hope into Ghana’s campaign, Zambia’s swift responses through Mbalika Mwaliteta and Jackson Simwami dashed any dreams of a comeback.

The Black Stars fought until the final whistle but ultimately fell short against a good Zambian side.

Despite the defeat, Ghana’s performance served notice of their competitive spirit and ability to contend with the best in African futsal.

As they regroup for the upcoming matches, the Black Stars will undoubtedly draw inspiration from their moments of brilliance and look to turn the tide in their favor in the remainder of the tournament.

In the other group game, the Atlas Lions of Morocco beat Angola 5-2.

This is Ghana’s second appearance in the competition since making their debut appearance in the maiden edition of the competition in 1996 where they went all the way to the finals and were beaten by host Egypt.

The Black Stars take on Morocco and Angola in their remaining group games.
