President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been, conferred with the prestigious title of Grand Officier de la Légion d’Honneur by the President of the French Republic.
This distinguished honour was awarded during an official state visit to France on Thursday November 14. The award recognises President Akufo-Addo’s exceptional contributions to the advancement of diplomacy, democratic governance, and international cooperation.
The Légion d’Honneur (Legion of Honour) is the highest civilian distinction awarded by France. Established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, it recognizes outstanding service to France, whether in a civilian or military capacity.
It is not limited to French citizens and is often awarded to notable foreign individuals for their contributions to promoting France’s values or fostering strong international relationships.
