The family of the late Stephen King Amoah, a 38-year-old officer with the Ghana Immigration Service, is calling on the Ghana Police Service to expedite investigations and ensure justice is served following his tragic death.
Amoah was reported missing on July 3 after he left home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate, reportedly to collect a debt. Five days later, his partially burnt body was discovered at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.
According to the family, a key suspect, identified as Bright Aweh, has been arrested in connection with the case. Preliminary investigations indicate that Aweh was the last person to contact Amoah and is believed to have arranged the fatal meeting.
The case has been adjourned to July 23, 2025, at the Kwabenya Circuit Court.
“The court has adjourned the case to 23rd July 2025, so we will be at Kwabenya Circuit Court on that day to plead with the court to ensure justice for my late uncle,” he said. “My uncle had no issues with anyone. He was a jovial person and very easy to get along with.”
Stephen King Amoah is survived by his wife and a four-year-old son. His death has sparked widespread grief, with family, friends, and colleagues demanding accountability and a thorough investigation.
