Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, along with his assistants John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda, were involved in a serious accident on the Tarkwa-Takoradi road.

They were traveling to Accra after attending a match between Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex and Ghana FA Cup holders Nsoatreman on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Images on social media showed significant damage to their vehicle, with goalkeepers’ trainer Fatau Dauda seen walking near the wreckage.

Initial reports, likely from Paintsil, suggest that the coaches seem to be unharmed, although a thorough evaluation for any injuries will be conducted later.

The coaches had been at the TNA Sports Stadium to watch the game and were heading to Accra to prepare for Ghana’s opening 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

The Black Stars’ qualifying campaign is set to begin against Angola on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
