Accra, Ghana – June 12, 2025 — As part of the 2025 Empowered Periods Campaign commemorating World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Lexta Ghana (producers of Yazz products), continued their school tour with an impactful visit to Achimota School on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025.

The campaign, which aims to cross out and break the stigma surrounding menstruation while promoting menstrual hygiene and dignity for girls, engaged hundreds of female students in an interactive and educational session. The visit to Achimota School marks another milestone in the effort to empower young girls across Ghana with knowledge, confidence, and access to hygiene support.

Students participated in an engaging health talk led by trained facilitators and health professionals on the topics: Menstrual hygiene management, Debunking period myths, Understanding the female reproductive system, and How to manage menstruation with dignity.
Students then had the opportunity to ask pressing questions and received honest, age-appropriate answers from experts.

Each student received a free menstrual hygiene kit, courtesy of Lexta Ghana’s Yazz brand, which included sanitary pads, wipes, and other essential hygiene items — reaffirming the campaign’s goal of crossing out period poverty and ensuring that no girl misses school because of menstruation.

Partnerships Driving Change

The CroxItOut Campaign continues to stand as a voice for female health empowerment in Ghana. With Lexta Ghana leading this year’s Empowered Periods campaign, the initiative has expanded its reach to communities and schools that need it most.

“Empowerment starts with information, but it grows with access and community support,” said Naana Lexis, the campaign’s P.R. “We’re grateful to Achimota School for the warm reception, and to Lexta Ghana for their unwavering support in crossing out period stigma and poverty.”

The campaign continues with more school visits across the Greater Accra Region and beyond in the coming weeks. Students, parents, and educators are encouraged to follow updates via YazzProducts, CroxItOut, and MX24GH social media pages.
