The countdown has begun for one of Ghana’s fastest-growing sports and entertainment events. Organisers of the Game 11 Football Festival have confirmed July 11, 2026, as the date for the fifth edition of the annual spectacle, with AIS Park in East Legon set to host another day of football, music, competition and community impact.
What started as a grassroots initiative in 2017 has grown into a movement that extends far beyond the football pitch. The festival has built a reputation for combining sport, youth development and entertainment, creating a platform where aspiring athletes can showcase their talent while communities come together in celebration.
This year’s edition promises to be the biggest yet. Men’s and women’s football competitions will headline the sporting action, alongside a men’s basketball tournament and a vibrant car show. Organisers have also increased the stakes, with attractive cash prizes on offer.
The men’s football champions will walk away with GHS 18,000, while the winners of the women’s tournament will receive GHS 5,000. The basketball champions will earn GHS 10,000, adding another layer of intensity to an already competitive event.
Beyond the trophies and prize money, the festival continues to serve a larger purpose. Over the years, Game 11 has become a valuable platform for discovering young talent and creating opportunities for athletes to gain visibility. In a country where football remains deeply woven into the national identity, events like these provide important pathways for the next generation.
The atmosphere is expected to extend well beyond sport. Music performances, live entertainment, a car and bike exhibition, and appearances from popular DJs and MCs will ensure fans have plenty to enjoy throughout the day. Rap sensation 5 Rave is among the headline acts expected to entertain spectators.
Co-founders Felix Nana Sackey, Perez Cecil and Nana Boansi Attafuah have expressed their ambition to expand the festival’s reach across Ghana. Their vision includes greater participation, increased scouting opportunities and stronger partnerships that can help elevate the event’s impact nationwide.
Game 11 President Ivan Kwame Dzansi believes the festival represents something much bigger than a single day of competition.
“Our mission is to reignite Ghana’s passion for football while creating sustainable pathways for young athletes to excel,” he said. “Game 11 fosters inclusion, discipline, and opportunity, building on Ghana’s rich football heritage and shaping future leaders both on and off the pitch.”
As anticipation builds, the 2026 Game 11 Football Festival looks set to once again blend sport, culture and community into a memorable celebration of Ghanaian talent.
