A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics indicates a tightening contest among potential contenders for the flagbearer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The survey, shared by the firm’s Executive Director, Mussa Dankwah, on Monday, April 13, 2026, shows that Johnson Asiedu Nketia continues to lead in a “top-of-the-mind” baseline assessment of the party’s potential flagbearer race.
However, his lead appears to be narrowing. According to the poll, his advantage dropped from 16 percentage points in Week 1 to 10 percentage points in Week 2, suggesting growing competition within the party.

In the latest figures, Asiedu Nketia secured 29 percent support, followed by Cassiel Ato Forson with 19 percent. Haruna Iddrisu polled 11 percent, while Julius Debrah and Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang each recorded 8 percent.
The poll also revealed that 24 percent of respondents remain undecided, pointing to a potentially fluid race as the party moves closer to selecting its candidate.
In Week 1, Asiedu Nketia led with 28 percent, while the undecided category stood significantly higher at 36 percent, with other contenders trailing.

Analysts say the narrowing gap suggests that although Asiedu Nketia remains the frontrunner, his position is increasingly being challenged, with uncertainty still surrounding the final lineup of candidates for the race.
