The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has suspended its nationwide strike following a request by government for a two-week window to address outstanding concerns.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, March 17, the association’s Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe, announced that members have been directed to return to work from March 24, 2026.

“The National Executive Committee of CLOGSAG has considered the government’s 14-day appeal to address concerns relating to our salary structure and conditions of service. EXCO has decided to suspend the nationwide strike. We are instructing our members to resume work by March 24, 2026,” he said.

Despite suspending the industrial action, the association indicated it will not appear before the National Labour Commission, citing ongoing legal action involving the Commission.

The strike, which began on March 9, 2026, was initiated to push for the full implementation of a memorandum of understanding that provides for a separate salary structure for workers within the Civil and Local Government Services.
