The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has commemorated the first anniversary of the death of its founder, Madam Akua Donkor, with a solemn ceremony held at Ejuratia in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region.

Led by the party’s current leader and 2024 presidential candidate, Philip Appiah Kubi—popularly known as Roman Fada—executives visited her graveside to pay tribute and reflect on her impact on Ghana’s political landscape.

Speaking to journalists in Accra after the event, Roman Fada reaffirmed the party’s commitment to preserving the legacy and ideals of the late founder. He said the GFP remains active and determined to reposition itself as a credible political force as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.

Despite the loss of Madam Donkor, he stressed that the party continues to stay focused and united in its mission.
