The Ghana Digital Products Awards (GDPA) was officially launched on 13th November during Ghana Digital Innovation Week, under the theme “Building Digital Products in Ghana: People, Process & Standards.” This theme reflects the Awards’ commitment to celebrating not just the final products, but the talent, discipline, and frameworks that drive Ghana’s digital innovation ecosystem.
The launch marked a major milestone in recognizing and celebrating outstanding digital products and innovators across Ghana. The event brought together key players from the tech ecosystem, including hubs, EdTech organizations, innovators, advisors, judges, and industry leaders.
In his keynote address, Poga Kuofie, President of the Ghana Digital Products Awards and Founding Partner of Insights Lab, emphasized the relevance of the theme:
“Great products are built through great people, guided by strong processes, and measured by clear standards. The Ghana Digital Products Awards exists to shine a spotlight on the creators, the processes, and the excellence behind Ghana’s digital innovations.”
He added that every digital solution — whether helping a small business operate efficiently or expanding access to healthcare and education — is an engine of national progress.
Kuofie noted that GDPA builds on Insights Lab’s existing initiatives, including the Building Bytes storytelling platform and Demo Fridays.
“If Building Bytes tells the stories, and Demo Fridays creates the stage, GDPA sets the standard,” he said.
Yaw Adu Gyamfi, President of the Ghana Hubs Network, echoed the theme by stressing the importance of process and inclusion, encouraging the Awards to be expanded to all regions.
Kwame Nyatuame, President of the Ghana EdTech Alliance, linked the theme to the role of education in strengthening Ghana’s digital talent pipeline.
The launch event also recognized the advisors, judges, panel members, organizing team, and volunteers whose expertise and commitment shaped the foundation of the Awards. The GDPA aims to become an annual celebration that elevates Ghanaian digital innovation, promotes shared standards, encourages collaboration, and inspires the next generation of tech creators.
