The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 13 new Mpox infections, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 670 as of October 1, 2025.

The latest figures reflect a steady increase in reported infections in recent weeks.

Three deaths have been recorded so far, and one patient is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Mpox, a viral disease similar to smallpox, is mainly transmitted through close contact with infected individuals. The GHS is urging the public to remain alert and observe recommended health precautions.

In a statement, the Service advised people to maintain personal hygiene and seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms such as fever, rash, headaches, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, or fatigue.

Authorities are continuing surveillance and public sensitization efforts to control the spread of the disease.
