Parliament on Friday, January 24, 2025, approved five ministerial nominees put forward by President John Mahama following their vetting by the Appointments Committee.
The approval came after a unanimous recommendation from the committee, confirming the appointments of some Members of Parliament (MPs) and Regional Minister Designates to key ministerial positions.
The Appointments Committee after the vetting, unanimously endorsed the nominees. Parliament then debated the motion for their approval, which led to a smooth confirmation of the appointments.
With the approval, these ministers are now poised to take on their respective portfolios
The nominees who received approval include:
Muntaka Mubarak – Minister of Interior
Ali Adolf John – Northern Regional Minister
John Kwadwo Gyapong – Oti Regional Minister
Rita Adjei Awatey, Eastern Regional Minister
James Gunu – Volta Regional Minister
