After an incredible 21-year tenure, Yussif Basigi is bidding farewell to Hasaacas Ladies, the Ghanaian women’s football powerhouse he helped shape into a continental force.
Basigi’s association with Hasaacas Ladies began in 2003, when he played a pivotal role in forming the club. He gradually rose through the ranks, earning his coaching badges and eventually becoming the head coach of the men’s team. In 2013, Basigi took the reins of the women’s team.
Under Basigi’s visionary leadership, Hasaacas Ladies have achieved remarkable milestones.
Basigi guided the team to four league titles, cementing Hasaacas Ladies’ status as a domestic powerhouse.
In 2021, Coach Basigi led the team to triumph in the WAFU Zone B Qualifiers. Hasaacas Ladies’ impressive debut in the Champions League, where they finished as runners-up, happened under his tutelage. Basigi’s team also secured the FA Cup in 2021.
Basigi’s next challenge awaits in Tanzania, where he will most likely join Simba Queens on a one-year deal. His wealth of experience, expertise, and success will undoubtedly bolster Tanzanian football.
