Real Madrid’s sensational forward, Vini Jr., has taken home the prestigious FIFA The Best Men’s Player 2024 award, as announced in Doha. This recognition comes after an incredible season with Real Madrid, where he played a pivotal role in securing the Champions League, LaLiga, and Spanish Super Cup titles.

Vini Jr.’s impressive campaign saw him score 24 goals, including a crucial strike against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final and a hat-trick against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup.

His outstanding performances earned him the top spot in the voting, conducted by an international panel comprising coaches and captains of men’s national teams, specialist journalists, and fans worldwide.

The FIFA The Best Men’s Player award acknowledges not only sporting achievements but also general conduct on and off the pitch, considering the period between August 21, 2023, and August 10, 2024. Vini Jr.’s victory marks his first FIFA The Best award, a testament to his remarkable growth and dedication to the sport.

“This seemed impossible when I played barefoot in the streets of Sao Goncalo, and now I’m here,” an emotional Vini Jr. expressed upon receiving the award. This achievement caps off a remarkable season, following Real Madrid’s boycott of the Ballon d’Or ceremony in October.

The award was decided by a combination of public votes (25%), journalists’ votes (25%), and votes from national team captains (25%) and managers (25%).
