Tyler Herro delivered when it mattered most, edging Buddy Hield by a single point to claim the Starry 3-Point Contest crown at State Farm All-Star Saturday Night. The Miami Heat sharpshooter nailed both of the deep three-point shots in the final round, posting a score of 24 to secure the win.

Hield, who set the bar with a competition-high 31 points in the first round, had the final attempt to steal the trophy. But after missing his first seven shots, the Golden State Warriors guard faced an uphill battle. He needed a perfect finish from his money-ball rack in the left corner but fell short on his fourth attempt, sealing Herro’s victory.

Darius Garland of the Cleveland Cavaliers also reached the final but struggled, managing just 11 makes from 19 attempts for a total of 19 points. Meanwhile, defending champion Damian Lillard’s reign ended early, as he bowed out in the first round with 18 points. The two-time winner failed to convert either of his long-distance shots and made only four of his nine money balls.

Herro becomes the fourth Heat player to win the 3-Point Contest, after Glen Rice (1995), Daequan Cook (2009), and James Jones (2011).
