Mac McClung once again proved he’s the undisputed king of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, making history with his third consecutive victory at State Farm All-Star Saturday Night. The Orlando Magic G League sensation set the tone early with a gravity-defying dunk over a Kia, leaving no doubt about his dominance.
McClung’s electrifying performance was reminiscent of Vince Carter’s iconic 2000 win, right in the Bay Area, where Carter famously declared, “It’s over.” The 25-year-old put on a show that left the competition trailing, executing a flawless series of dunks that earned him straight 50s from the judges.
His final act was pure brilliance juggling two balls mid-air, slamming one home before snatching another from the rim and finishing emphatically. Spurs rookie Stephon Castle made the final round but had no answer for McClung’s creativity and execution.
“It kind of feels like a blur,” McClung admitted after the win. “I genuinely love this contest and I love to dunk.” His passion was evident, as he became the first player ever to win three straight Slam Dunk titles.
