Inter Milan delivered a night of grit and glory at the San Siro, overturning a Harry Kane strike with two goals in three chaotic second-half minutes to knock Bayern Munich out and book their place in the Champions League semi-finals.

On a night lashed by wind and rain, this heavyweight clash lived up to its billing. Kane’s crisp finish into the far corner midway through the second half drew the tie level at 2-2 on aggregate, and for a brief moment, Bayern sensed momentum.

But Inter’s response was as ruthless as it was rapid. Lautaro Martínez, denied initially by a deflection, slammed in the rebound to notch his 150th goal for the Nerazzurri. From the following corner, Benjamin Pavard once of Bayern, rose unmarked to nod in against his former club and swing the tie firmly in Inter’s favour.

Bayern didn’t go quietly. Eric Dier’s looping header narrowed the gap again, setting up a frantic finale. Sommer denied Müller, Kane blazed over, and nerves crackled through San Siro as Inter held firm, clinging to a 4-3 aggregate triumph.

Simone Inzaghi’s side, the reigning Serie A champions, may have gone under the radar, but with steel at the back and precision in attack, they are making a serious statement in Europe.
