The Ghana Football Association has officially released the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League fixtures with mouthwatering clashes, fierce rivalries, and the long-awaited return of classic derbies.
Defending champions Gold Stars FC will launch their title defence at home against Bechem United on Match Day 1. The Bibiani-based side are determined to maintain their dominance after a sensational 2024/25 campaign.
Accra Hearts of Oak, eyeing a resurgence, open their season with a home tie against newly promoted Hohoe United. Meanwhile, arch-rivals Asante Kotoko hit the road to face Berekum Chelsea in a tricky opener.
The ever-popular Hearts of Oak vs. Asante Kotoko showdown is penciled in for Match Day 5 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Fans will circle Match Day 22 on their calendars too, as the reverse fixture takes centre stage at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Volta derby fever returns after years of absence. Hohoe United host Kpando Heart of Lions on Match Day 17, with the reverse fixture concluding the season on Match Day 34 in Kpando.
Nations FC and Asante Kotoko renew their Ashanti Derby rivalry on Match Day 9 in Accra. The return leg is set for Match Day 26 in Kumasi, promising more fireworks in the regional face-off.
Brong Ahafo battles also light up the calendar. Young Apostles face Bechem United (Match Day 5), Berekum Chelsea (Match Day 7), and Aduana FC (Match Day 16). The reverse ties fall on Match Days 22, 24, and 33 respectively.
Medeama SC and FC Samartex reignite their rivalry on Match Day 6, with a reverse clash on Match Day 23. Medeama will also take on Basake Holy Stars on Match Day 15, before the return on Match Day 32.
The 2025/26 season kicks off the weekend of September 12, 2025, wrapping up by May 23/24, 2026. The schedule aligns with FIFA’s calendar, ensuring a smooth run-up to the 2026 World Cup.
Weekend fixtures will dominate the season, with midweek slots available for outstanding matches, continuing the format from last year.
