Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies defeated Delta Queens of Nigeria 1-0 in the final of the WAFU B Women’s Champions League at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Thursday afternoon.

Striker Ophelia Amponsah scored the only goal of the game for Ampem Darkoa two minutes before the break.

Delta Queens came in stronger in the second half but couldn’t break down the defense of Ampem Darkoa.

At the end of the game, Ophelia’s lone goal won the trophy for the Techiman-based side and also earned them a place in the CAF Women’s Champions slated for Ivory Coast in November.

Midfielder Nancy Amoh was adjudged player of the match while Mary Amponsah won the Golden Boot of the tournament.
