Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has pulled out from the Presidential Primaries of the New Patriotic Party which will be held on November 4 this year. Alan announced his withdrawal a day before the balloting process for contestants who will be taking part in the November polls.
Alan, who is one of the frontrunners in the contest, stated that he is no longer interested in the race and hence he will not participate in the contest with the rest of the candidates. In a press statement, the former trade and industry ministry minister expressed worry about what he described as ‘’intimidation of varying intensity, directly and indirectly unleashed on a significant number of delegates at various voting centers across the sixteen regions.’’ He also cited the alleged attack on his polling agent in the North East region during the period.
The statement says ‘’ after having carefully analysed the results of the said elections, it is absolutely clear that that the from the events leading to, during and after the elections, that the Special Delegates Conference was strategically and tactically skewed in favour of one particular aspirant. ‘’
It is in view of this that the former and industry minister stated that he is ‘’ honourably withdraws” from the process that will lead to the presidential primaries to be held on the 4th of November 2023.
He however wished all the aspirants well ahead of the upcoming primaries and expressed his profound gratitude to his family, his campaign team and his supporters and followers in Ghana and across the world for their unwavering support.
