Samuel Adu Boakye, Chairman of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project, has called on media organizations in the Ashanti Region to provide strong support for the initiative in raising funds for the project.

He emphasized that the current amount of money raised is insufficient to complete the project within the desired timeframe.

Speaking to journalists at the Manhyia Palace, Mr. Boakye highlighted the crucial role of the media in helping to raise the targeted $10 million needed to finish the project.

He stressed the importance of the initiative, particularly in light of the challenges faced by the Hospital, which continues to grapple with issues such as limited space, inadequate beds, and a lack of medical equipment.

Mr. Boakye emphasized the significance of renovating the referral hospital to ensure the provision of quality healthcare to residents of the region, especially considering the hospital’s own challenges.

He underscored the urgent need for infrastructural improvement at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), which serves as Ghana’s second-largest teaching hospital and receives referrals from 12 out of the 16 regions of the country.

As part of the Asantehene 25th Anniversary Legacy Projects, the initiative aims to mobilize resources and funding to address the infrastructural challenges faced by KATH.

The goal is to implement a comprehensive solution that will enhance the hospital’s infrastructure, thereby promoting a more functional and efficient hospital environment that prioritizes healing, comfort, and safety for the people of the Ashanti Region and beyond.
