The Ministry in collaboration with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and partners has launched the National Non-Resident Visitors Health Insurance Policy (NNRVHIP- 2023).
The policy aims to promote, provide, and maintain good healthcare for all non-resident visitors in Ghana through health insurance.
In his keynote address, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, the Minister for Health, emphasized that the recent rise and resurgence of pandemics have significantly put the health of migrants at risk and therefore stressed the immediate need for policy interventions to ensure non-resident visitors have access to high-quality services.
In outlining the objectives of the NNRVHIP, Hon. Agyeman-Manu emphasized establishing a framework for operationalising the NNRVHIS.
The objectives involve integrating the system into overall healthcare services, providing essential healthcare to non-resident visitors, and fostering stronger partnerships with public and private sector industry actors.
