The General Legal Council (GLC) has denied an application filed by Elorm Ababio, popularly known as Ama Governor, to be called to the bar.
This becomes the second time in a row the social media influencer and content creator has been denied being called to the bar.
In a letter addressed to Ms. Elorm Ababio and signed by the Judicial Secretary, Justice Cyra Pamela C. A. Koranteng, her application to be called to the bar was denied on basis of elements noted her public conduct prior to her application.
“At the meeting of the General Legal Council held on Tuesday, 17 October 2023, your application to be called to the Bar was declined on accounts of elements noted in your public conduct prior to the application.” the letter stated.
However, the GLC added that Ama Governor “may complete appropriate forms for application to be called to the Bar, any time there is a scheduled enrolment after the 20th October 2023 enrolment ceremony.”
This means that she will not be part of the enrolment ceremony for lawyers slated for Friday, October 20, 2023.
