Ghana Shines bright with 19 Medals at 4-Nation Junior Athletics Championships in Abidjan

In an electrifying showcase of talent and determination, Ghanaian athletes dazzled at the 4-Nation Junior Athletics championships held at the iconic Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.

The event, brimming with youthful vigor and fierce competition, saw athletes from Senior High Schools and athletic clubs vying for glory across various disciplines, culminating in an impressive medal haul for Team Ghana.

Ghana’s prowess was on full display as Aisha Ibrahim and Latifa Haruna clinched top spots in the women’s U18 400m finals, setting the track ablaze with their remarkable performances.

The U20 quartet also left their mark, securing victory in the women’s 4x100m relay finals with a blazing time.

Not to be outdone, the men’s U20 quartet stormed to gold in the 4x100m relay, showcasing their speed and teamwork.

Individual triumphs added to Ghana’s glory, with athletes like Gloria Amoh who came 1st in the U18 women long jump finals.

Latifa Haruna who was 1st in the women U18 800m finals in a time of 2:16.63.

Isaac Beniako came 2nd in the men U18 400m finals in a time of 50.22sec.

Dennis Appiah Minkah came 1st in the men U18 110m hurdles finals in a time of 15.33sec (+0.8), and Prince Yaw Gyasi Adu came 1st in the U18 men high jump finals in a height of 1.90m.

The collective effort and dedication of these young athletes resulted in a remarkable tally of 19 medals for Ghana .

The team won 12 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 2 bronze medals, solidifying their status as a rising force in junior athletics on the continental stage.
