Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons Hosts Leadership Symposium 2025: Honoring Medical Pioneers

Accra, Ghana – August 5, 2025 – The Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS) is proud to announce the upcoming Leadership Symposium 2025, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, at the GCPS Auditorium in Accra from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

This year’s symposium will focus on medical leadership, bringing together experts and pioneers to engage in meaningful discussions that will help shape the future of healthcare in Ghana and beyond. The event is CPD accredited and offers free registration for attendees.

Honoring Distinguished Medical Leaders

The Leadership Symposium 2025 will celebrate the remarkable careers and achievements of two outstanding figures in the medical community:

Prof. Afua Hesse – Ghana’s first female pediatric surgeon and a trailblazer in the field of pediatric surgery.

Prof. David Ofori-Adjei – An eminent clinical pharmacologist renowned for his contributions to healthcare in Ghana and Africa.

About Prof. Afua Hesse

Prof. Afua Hesse is widely recognized as the first Ghanaian-trained female pediatric surgeon. Her groundbreaking work in the medical field has made her a pioneer, not only for women in medicine but also in advancing pediatric surgery in Ghana and West Africa.
