Flora Tissues, Top Choco support flood victims at Battor and Mepe

The donated items were intended to assist the displaced residents in coping with their sanitary needs thereby preventing further health issues and also provide a comfortable living environment in the wake of the disaster.

Delta Paper Mill Limited and Alpha Industries Limited, producers of Flora tissues and Top Choco have donated sanitary items to victims of the Akosombo and Kpong Dams spillage in the Volta Region of Ghana.

The donated items were intended to assist the displaced residents in coping with their sanitary needs thereby preventing further health issues and also provide a comfortable living environment in the wake of the disaster.

The items donated comprise sanitary products produced by Delta Paper Mill Limited, such as tissues, toilet rolls, and diapers.

Additional items consist of other products from Alpha Industries Limited such as Top Choco spread and the “3 in 1” Chocolate drink.

Meanwhile, camps at the Mepe Saint Kizito Senior High Technical School, Agbatikpo D/A Basic School camp and the palace of the Makralo of the Mepe Traditional Area, Torgbui Kwasi Nigo IV, were the main beneficiaries of the donated items.

Director of Operations of Alpha Industries and Delta Paper Mill, Dany Skaf after the donations at the Saint Kizito camp noted that, as a company based in Ghana with over 500 Ghanaian employees, the welfare of the Ghanaian citizens is paramount hence the decision to donate the items wealth thousands of Cedis to the victims.

He also called on other individuals, industries and organizations to come to the aid of the thousands of residents who have been displaced from their homes by the floods.
“…If there is a message that I can pass through the media is everyone should come and do the same tomorrow, tomorrow next and until these people can get back to their homes and their normal lives,” he said.

Makralo of the Mepe Traditional Area, Torgbui Kwasi Nigo IV, receiving the items on behalf of his community, expressed gratitude towards Delta Paper Mill and Alpha Industries Limited for the kind gesture.

“We are very grateful that you are here. Even the thought alone is so much, it means a lot to us even coming to help us with tissues, toiletries and drinks. I know it put a lot of smiles on the faces of our people, whiles they use it, they will remember you,” he remarked.

The last donation was made at the Agbatikpo D/A Basic School camp where the team was met by the Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. The items were presented by the Head of Marketing of Delta Paper Mill and Alpha Industries Limited, Barbara Incoom who reaffirmed the commitment of the companies to supporting the affected victims.

Member of Parliament for the North Tonu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who received the items on behalf of the victims, expressed appreciation to the team on behalf of the chiefs and people of the area.

He elaborated on how the items would go a long way to help improve sanitary conditions at the camps.


He however seized the opportunity to call on the government to as a matter of urgency see to the resettlement and compensation of the victims and owners of the over 1,500 houses that have been destroyed in his constituency.

Brand Ambassador for Flora Tissues and winner of the tenth edition of reality TV show, Talented Kids, Nakeeyat Dramani Sam, also donated some books to students at the St. Kizito Camp. She believes, the children would apply the knowledge acquired from the books to protect their immediate environment.
