Christmas Festivities: Police will offer overdose of security- IGP Assure Ghanaians

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Damapare, has assured Ghanaians of the police service’s readiness to make the upcoming Christmas festivities an incident free one.

He says that the Ghana Police Service would provide the needed security to protect citizens and their property especially Ghanaians living in the diaspora who intend to visit the country to celebrate the yuletide.

The IGP made this statement during an engagement with the leaders and representatives of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council and the Christian Council of Ghana at the Church of Pentecost Transit Guest House, Tesano, Accra, as part of stakeholder engagement to promote security towards the Christmas and New Year festive seasons.

“We want to assure you that this Christmas would be awesome. I assure you that the police would give you double overdose of security. …Ghana is ready, I want to assure all tourist and Ghanaians in the diaspora that the police is ready. Come enjoy our hospitality” Dr. Dampare noted.

During the week, the IGP together with some members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), have engaged the leaders and representatives of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), the Leaders and representatives as well as some members of the Creative Arts Industry at the Police Headquarters, Accra, as part of stakeholder engagement to promote security towards the Christmas and New Year festive seasons.
