The High Court has scheduled July 2, 2025, as the start date for the trial in the case of Republic v. Charles Bissue.

This follows a Case Management Conference during which the prosecution confirmed that all necessary disclosures had been filed as of May 28.

According to court records, the prosecution has submitted two witness statements — one accompanied by five exhibits and the other with 12 exhibits. Additionally, 63 supporting documents have been disclosed. Lawyers for the accused acknowledged receipt of the materials and requested access to the original copies, which were confirmed to have been provided.

The court has outlined specific dates for the prosecution’s witnesses to testify: July 2, 3, 8, 9, 15, 22, and 23. The trial is expected to proceed on those days unless otherwise directed by the court.

The case was adjourned to July 2 to mark the formal commencement of proceedings.
