Samson Deen, President of both the National Paralympic Committee and the African Paralympic Committee, has refuted claims that some registered para-athletes traveled to Norway for a sports event.
Deen stated that neither para-athletes, coaches, officials, foreign representatives, nor any other individuals associated with para-sports sought assistance from the Norwegian Embassy in Accra for participation in any sporting event.
The denial follows a communication from the Ministry of National Security to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and Youth and Sports, concerning the disappearance of ten Ghanaian para-athletes and their coach.
Deen emphasized that he was unaware of the purported event and the involvement of the para-athletes in question.
