Donald Trump is set to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Sunday, making history as the first sitting U.S. president to participate in the iconic event.

The U.S. Secret Service, tasked with ensuring the president’s safety, confirmed preparations for his visit have been underway for several days.

Trump will be present as the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Secret Service emphasized the extensive planning required to ensure the safety of all individuals attending the game, including players, staff, and spectators.

Given the unprecedented nature of a sitting president attending the Super Bowl, security measures have been heightened this year.

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi reassured the public that coordination has been thorough, stating, “Extensive planning and coordination have been in place to ensure the safety of all attendees, players, and staff.”

Fans heading to the game can expect updated information on security checkpoints in the coming days, the Secret Service added.

In addition to attending the game, Trump will sit down for an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier, which will be part of the network’s pregame coverage.

Presidents typically grant an interview with the broadcaster of the Super Bowl, though both Trump and his successor, Joe Biden, have been inconsistent in fulfilling this tradition.

Although Trump has not revealed which team he’s backing, he did offer some praise for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

When asked about his Super Bowl prediction, Trump avoided naming a winner but remarked, “There’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner,” likely referring to Mahomes.

Earlier this year, Trump congratulated the Kansas City Chiefs after their AFC Championship victory, celebrating their performance and commending the team, coach, and fans, while also offering praise for the Buffalo Bills’ strong season

With President Trump’s attendance marking a historic moment at the Super Bowl, security and logistics will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and smooth execution of the event.
