Ghana international Philomena Abakah has signed with Serbian club Red Star Belgrade ahead of the new season.

She joins the team on a two-year contract following her departure from ASA Tel Aviv at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Abakah, a key player for the Black Queens, is set to continue her European journey in Serbia.

The move was officially announced on Monday, August 26, and she is already preparing to join her new teammates.

Previously, Abakah had a stint with Tanzania’s Simba Queens and competed in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

She was also part of Nora Hauptle’s squad that secured the Black Queens’ qualification to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which has been rescheduled for 2025.
