A key member of Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign strategy team, Dr Stephen Amoah, has declared that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is poised to regain power in the 2028 general elections, led by the former Assin Central MP and presidential hopeful.
Speaking to Adom FM, Dr Amoah acknowledged the NPP’s heavy loss in the 2024 elections but emphasized the importance of introspection, restructuring, and reforming the party for a strong comeback.
“After losing the elections, we are still in the process of reconfiguring the party. We have admitted our defeat, and now we need to analyse why we lost so we can make the necessary adjustments. The NPP will surely bounce back, and we will win the 2028 elections under Kennedy Agyapong,” he stated.
Dr Amoah hailed Mr Agyapong’s leadership qualities, particularly highlighting his personal investments in national development and his clean record with regard to corruption.
“It’s not about propaganda; the NPP is better than the NDC. Kennedy Agyapong has no incidents of corruption and has done a lot for the country using his own money. So, what makes us think he can’t lead the country?” he asked.
He also touted Agyapong’s grassroots appeal, describing him as the only candidate with a comprehensive plan to empower party activists and base supporters through his Grassroots and Welfare Policy.
“For us, it’s about performance, not propaganda, and it is Kennedy Agyapong’s time. He is the only candidate with a well-defined policy specifically for activists and grassroots members,” Dr Amoah added.
His comments come amid growing conversations within the NPP about leadership renewal and strategic repositioning, as the party navigates its opposition role following the 2024 defeat.
