The President of John Dramani Mahama has begun a four-day working visit to South Korea, with leaders from both countries expressing confidence that the trip will strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Speaking during a summit in Seoul on Wednesday, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said he hopes the visit will lead to practical outcomes that will benefit citizens of both nations.
According to the South Korean news agency Yonhap News Agency, President Lee noted that collaboration between Ghana and South Korea has already produced significant results in areas such as maritime security, agriculture, and trade.

He expressed optimism that President Mahama’s presence in the country would help expand cooperation and bring about initiatives that people in both countries can directly experience.
President Mahama arrived in South Korea on Tuesday, March 11, as part of efforts to deepen diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.

During the visit, he is expected to hold bilateral discussions with President Lee and also meet the Speaker of the National Assembly, Woo Won-shik. The talks are expected to focus on strengthening collaboration in strategic sectors including technology, climate action, and economic development.

Beyond official engagements, the Ghanaian leader is also scheduled to meet members of the Ghanaian community in South Korea, including students and professionals. The meeting is intended to give them an opportunity to share their experiences while reinforcing their connection with the government back home.
