The Transition Team of President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has announced the formation of a preparatory team to spearhead his anti-corruption drive ahead of his assumption of office.
This initiative follows Mr. Mahama’s 2024 campaign promise to recover proceeds of corruption and ensure accountability.
In a statement released on December 18, 2024, the team, tasked with gathering information on suspected acts of corruption from the public and other sources, comprises key individuals with expertise in governance, law enforcement, and investigative reporting.
The team is chaired by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and includes:
1.Mr. Daniel Domelovo, Former Auditor-General
2.COP (Rtd.) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye
3.Mr. Martin Kpebu, Private Legal Practitioner
4.Mr. Raymond Archer, Investigative Journalist
The anti-corruption effort, dubbed “Operation Recover All Loot” (ORAL), was a major pillar of Mahama’s policy platform during the 2024 campaign. The President-Elect aims to hit the ground running with this initiative to address corruption and promote accountability in governance.
The statement, signed by spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, underscores Mahama’s commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and restoring public confidence in the fight against corruption.
